The Skinny on Skinny Jeans

Love them or hate them skinny jeans have long been popular in the world of music fashion.

Elvis offended many in the 1950s with pants that were shockingly tight for the time.

In the sixties bands like the Beatles and Rolling Stones wore slim hugging pants.

The Beatles

Rolling Stones

The Ramones and other punk bands wore them in the 1970s.

Vivienne Westwood designed clothes for the Sex Pistols and sold tight pants in her famous London shop, SEX.

Lots of popular 80s bands have flaunted them, like Guns N' Roses.

Looks like skinny jeans are alive and well:

The Strokes

The Kooks

Razorlight
Kings of Leon

Tegan and Sara

All American Rejects

Fall Out Boy
Green Day

Amy Winehouse

My Chemical Romance

I could go on all day. Even the Jonas Brothers wear skinny jeans.

So what do you think- skinny jeans, hot or not?

Drugstore Rockstar

Here are my favorite drugstore available makeup options for looking great on stage or in the pit. These are all very affordable for those feeling the pinch of the recession.

Eyeliner:

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Navy. This eyeliner won't smear all over the place after its been applied (like half of the more expensive brand name ones I own that wind up smudged).
Mascara:

Maybelline New York LashStiletto.
"Does for lashes what stilettos do for legs"

Primer:

Rimmel London Fix & Perfect foundation primer

This helps keep your foundation on longer, so you don't sweat it off as fast.

Cheeks:

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Bronzer, Blush & Eye Shadow in Vegas Strip

This bronzer can also be used as an eyeshadow. It gives you just the right amount of shimmer and highlights your cheek bones.

Lip Gloss:

Neutrogena MoistureShine gloss in glam

Smells nice and makes your lips really soft.

Legs:

Sally Hanson Air Brush Legs Leg Makeup

My little secret. This stuff really does work miracles. It makes your legs look perfect. Your friends will all be jealous and will tell you so.

Retro Swimwear

This post is inspired by the outfit worn by singer Lura from The Black Tales at the Viper Room show last Saturday.

If you're trying to decide what kind of swimsuit to wear this summer why not go pinup retro?

Concert photos are from Celine B. at CelinElise.com
